Whether you live in a house or an apartment, plumbing Issues are not welcomed. They cause inconvenience in our daily lives and usually lead to unhygienic circumstances.

However, one often does not know how to recognize a plumbing issue. Thus, they don’t know if to call a plumber or wait for the issue to go away on its own. Some even try to fix the problem themselves. But that isn’t always the right way to do things. And so, we have made you a list of the most common plumbing issues you can find in a bathroom.

1. Low water pressure

The low water pressure in your faucet is one of the most common plumbing issues you can face in your bathroom.

Low water pressure means that the water coming out of your faucet is not coming out with full force or at its normal volume. Then, the water drips from the faucet and comes out in really low volumes.

This can be caused by several reasons such as valve issues, issues in the water distribution, or a clogged aerator. We suggest you call for a plumber if the water pressure suddenly lowers. Websites like Reece Plumbing & Bathrooms provide top-class plumbing services that you can book online!

2. Leakage in Pipes

This one is more on the trouble-causing side as it can potentially damage your walls, cabinets, and ceiling if not treated immediately. For example, if you see water spraying out from an exterior pipe in your bathroom, you know it’s leaked. You just have to turn off the water supply in your house and call a plumber. But other leaks are not that easy to detect.

If your water bill suddenly increases without any increase in the water you use, or if there are damp patches on your ceiling or bathroom cabinets, it’s probably because you have a pipe leak. This is the time you should call a plumber.

3. Clogged Toilets

No one likes to have clogged toilets. They are a hassle to clean and make the bathroom unhygienic and messy. Honestly, nobody even likes to clean one.

This one is easy to detect. If the contents in your toilet are not flushing properly, or you can see dirty water getting collected in the toilet, you know that it’s clogged. Usually, this can be fixed easily by using products to soften the clog and then unclog it with a plunger. But sometimes the blockage can be anywhere in the pipes in your house which you can’t fix yourself. Then you need to call a plumber.

4. Water Heater Problems

This one is not as common as the rest but might happen to anyone, anytime. Water heater problems generally consist of water not heating the way it’s supposed to, the water having a strange color, leaks, or strange noises coming from the heater.

Water temperature issues are usually electrical in nature, so you should get that checked if you face such issues. But leaks are caused due to corrosion of pipes, which needs to be fixed by professionals.

Besides, if the color of the water changes, it can be caused by a faulty electrode rod inside the heater. This, too, needs immediate attention. Finally, odd noises in your heater can be due to the build-up of sediments. Again, this can lead to future problems, so this must be handled immediately.

5. Clogged Drains

This happens when you flush something that is not meant to be flushed. Flushing things that you are not supposed to flush will clog your drains and pipes.

And it isn’t something that a plumber can fix as sometimes the clog is very deep and needs to be dug through the drywall. It also isn’t something you should try to fix yourself as it is very gross and can potentially make a mess. In these cases, you need to call for a plumber to make sure it is fixed for the long haul.
